John Wayne plays a Sheriff in a small town who has arrested the brother of someone important. John Wayne’s character refuses to give up the prisoner and must recruit some ill qualified deputies to help him defend the jailhouse. This is another typical John Wayne movie that doesn’t get dark and stays light hearted most of the movie. One of the true classics.

#3 Unforgiven R 1992

Clint Eastwood stars in this movie about an old gunslinger who, after marrying a God fearing woman, has exchanged his life as an outlaw for a small pig farming rancher. Then one day, after his wife has died and struggling to make ends meet, the nephew of an old outlaw buddy comes to him wanting help on a job for a good cause and a reward hard to pass up. Just like many Eastwood movies, there isn't a lot of comedy but plenty of gun play and smoldering gazes.

A second version of the movie came out in 2010, PG-13,  and features Jeff Bridges. The story line follows pretty close to the original movie.
